Definisi Magang

Magang adalah kegiatan pembinaan yang dikelola secara terpusat dan merupakan suatu program nasional bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan seorang tenaga akademik dalam melaksanakan Tridharma sekolah dengan mengutamakan pada dharma pendidikan dan pengajaran yang dikoordinasikan oleh Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Departemen Pendidikan Nasional. Pembinaan ini terutama dilaksanakan melalui hubungan yang intensif antara peserta program magang dan tenaga pembinanya di sekolah kejuruan (SMK). Program ini bukan dimaksudkan untuk pencapaian suatu gelar lanjutan, tetapi dapat dimanfaatkan untuk seleksi mengikuti program MAGANG

Tujuan diadakannya magang adalah sebagai berikut :

1. Ssiswa dapat merasakan langsung bekerja pada suatu industri.
2. Untuk memperoleh pengalaman kerja di industri.
3. Untuk mengetahui lingkungan kerja yang sebenarnya dalam suatu industri.
4. Untuk mengetahui proses-proses kerja yang terdapat di perusahaan. Proses kerja yang dimaksud adalah bagaimana hasil produk, tenaga kerja, kedisiplinan dan keselamatan kerja.
5. Membandingkan ilmu yang diperoleh di perkuliahan dengan pelaksanaan magang di industri.
6. Untuk memperoleh pengetahuan dari tempat magang.
7. Mengaplikasikan kemampuan praktik yang diperoleh di perkuliahan ke dunia industri.

Manfaat diadakannya magang adalah sebagai berikut : 

Manfaat bagi Siswa: 

1. Siswa dapat mengaplikasikan dan meningkatkan ilmu yang diperoleh di bangku sekolah.
2. Menambah wawasan setiap siswa mengenai dunia industri.
3. Menambah dan meningkatkan keterampilan serta keahlian dibidang praktek.

Manfaat bagi sekolah

1. Terjalinnya kerjasama “bilateral” antara sekolah dengan perusahaan.
